  • The Steuber's A flight was won by Stuart Lawrence who beat Danny Huneycutt in the best-of-three final, earning the top prize of $2,500. In the first game, Stuart failed to peg out his forward ball after completing three peels of a triple, and left the four balls poorly scattered, but after scoring one hoop Danny quickly returned the favor by going out of bounds on a split shot, allowing Stuart to finish. The second game went to Danny after plenty of interactivity (i.e. gross errors) with the long day in the sun seeming to take a toll on both players. In the decider, Stuart kept control of the game despite some avoidable near-disasters and won +26tp, his only triple of the tournament. In the A flight, all knockout matches were best-of-threes and games throughout the tournament were untimed, a nice change from the short time limits often seen in three- and four-day events.
