USCA Southeastern Region Annual Report

1. What a year!  Here is to hoping that 2021 will be far better than 2020.  COVID is still with us so please continue to wear a mask and social distance.  It would be a shame to get the virus now, with a vaccine just a short wait away.  Personally, I will continue to play a COVID safe form of croquet, wear a face mask, stay 6 feet away from everyone I don't live with and avoid the stores as much as I can.

2. Disappointingly, all three of our SE Regional Tournaments were cancelled in 2020 by the USCA.  We did manage to hold a Regional replacement tournament that was well attended and was conducted in a COVID safe way.

3. We have a 2021 SE Regional for American 6-Wicket tournament scheduled for June 10-13 at Pinehurst.  We are waiting to see how COVID affects things before we schedule more Regionals in 2021.

4. Many of us are playing Golf Croquet.  Please look for the new Golf Croquet handicapping system that is coming out very soon from the USCA.

5. The USCA is also rolling out a new website.  It should come out this month or next depending on how smoothly the rollout goes.  It is about time for us to have an easier website to navigate.

6. The 2021 Nationals for 6W, GC and AC have been scheduled by USCA.  As your representative, I have been working hard to try and get USCA to schedule these titled events 2 years in advance so local clubs can schedule around them.  Lynda Sudderberg is the new chairman of the Tournament Committee and I have every confidence that she will make this happen.

7.  I am looking for venues for the 2022 SE Regionals.  A host can be a single club or a group of clubs that are close to one another. If you are interested in having one of the 2022 SE Regionals (6W, AC, GC or 9W) in your area, please let me know!  I would like to get the 2020 SE Regionals scheduled by June 1 of this year.

8. Below is a list of USCA District Presidents.  Each state is its own USCA District.  Currently we have a vacancy in Tennessee.  It would be great to get one of the TN Volunteers to help out as DP.  If you live in Tennessee and would be willing to serve as District President for your state, please let me know.
